XZTLY! What happened!
Splash of splendor- A Kiwanis Extravaganza was an amazing effort by Xztly! And members of Kiwanis Taman tun Dr Ismail. Held on the 14th November at the Prince Hotel & Residence, Kuala Lumpur, the event was attended by 300 guests.
Upon arrival, guests were ushered to mingle at the foyer and read interesting facts about children with learning disabilities displayed on stand up boards while having light refreshment. Staffs and members of the body Shop Malaysia have set up a Body shop booth selling skin care products. A make-over service was also provided by The Body Shop Malaysia which was a favorite amongst many guests, these make-overs was done at a minimal fee and ALL proceeds were donated to KIWANIS Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.
At about 11.45am, Datin Jennifer Fernandez, Lieutenant Governor of Kiwanis Taman Tun Dr. Ismail started of the event with a heartwarming speech noting that ‘the children at the centre would have been delighted to know that such a grand event has been done for them.’
After the speech, a video presentation on the Kiwanis Taman Tun Dr. Ismail Centre for children with learning disability was played, narrated by the master of ceremony, Ben Ibrahim. Then after, a simple acoustic song performance was done by an upcoming young talent, Asfan Shah who sang a song he specially wrote for the Kiwanis children; which was a touching moment.
As food was served, the first set of fashion show began with Alin Anuar’s Chantiq Skaly clothing line. With her soft and demure models, Chantiq Skaly potray clothings for modern women with a twist of culture. Proven popular with the working adult, 6 pieces of clothings were sold at the auction. Harith Iskander came on stage after the fashion show and wowed the crowd for 45 minutes, leaving everybody ticklish and giggling in their seats. Being the funny man he is, the received a standing ovation from the crowd.
The second set of fashion show was probably the funkiest the fashion show has to offer. Ed Hardy Malaysia funked up the room with colorful, stylish models who were dancing on the runway. From the look on their faces, they were genuinely having a blast and it sets guests in a dancing mood. Everybody in the room had so much fun and was really impressed when they were told that these models are volunteers. Ed Hardy offers colorful street clothings and can be found on the 3rd floor at the Suria KLCC.
The third set of fashion show was presented by Jedan. Jedan offers beautiful intricate elegant clothings. Jedan offers an amazing range beaded baju kurungs and kebayas but what caught everyone’s eyes were the highlight of his creation: The Kaftan Dresses; which was sold out during the event. The day ended at about 3pm and everybody had a great time. TV3 has sent in their crew to cover the event and Splash of splendor was featured in Malaysia Hari ini. A few newpaper journalist were also there to cover the event. In short it was charity done with a Big Splash!
